Luke entered the John Crane apprentice program in 2017. With John Crane’s support, and a significant amount of self-study, he gained a BEng (Hons) 1st Class degree in Mechanical Engineering. Now, as an Engineer Level III he supports some of the industry’s most demanding sealing applications, combining advanced analysis, materials qualification and practical problem-solving, while actively mentoring apprentices and supporting STEM outreach. Luke’s journey from apprentice to high-duty mechanical seal specialist reflects the value of hands-on learning, technical curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement.
